G-Eazy

Born Gerald Earl Gillum in Oakland, California, G-Eazy established himself on the West Coast rap scene with straightforward writing, a measured delivery and an aesthetic that mixes hip-hop, pop-rap and melodically framed productions. Active since the mid-2000s, G-Eazy began as a producer and developed his early tracks between the Bay Area and his years studying at Loyola University in New Orleans, where he collaborated with Christoph Andersson. After several mixtapes he drew attention with The Endless Summer in 2011 and released the independent album Must Be Nice in 2012. He reached a wider audience with These Things Happen in 2014, followed by When It’s Dark Out in 2015 and The Beautiful & Damned in 2017, which continued an accessible form of rap focused on hooks, nocturnal atmospheres and a kind of autobiographical storytelling. Over the course of his career G-Eazy has performed at events such as Warped Tour, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and Outside Lands and has collaborated with artists including Bebe Rexha, Kehlani, Halsey, Carnage and Britney Spears. In 2020 he broadened his palette with Everything’s Strange Here, a project leaning more toward indie rock, before returning to rap with These Things Happen Too in 2021, and later releasing Freak Show in 2024 and Helium in 2025.
