Snelle

Positioned between Dutch rap and pop, Snelle — real name Lars Bos — has, since the second half of the 2010s, developed a highly personal Dutch-language style, driven by a blend of melodic rap, singer-songwriter elements and sounds close to contemporary pop. Born in Deventer and formed on the local scene, Snelle first gained attention online and then with a series of singles in which he tackled intimate topics, insecurities and everyday life, before consolidating that work on the 2018 album “Vechtmuziek.” His visibility expanded in 2019 with the track “Scars,” a rap-pop ballad that highlights his taste for sung choruses and autobiographical lyrics, and with the album “Beetje Bij Beetje” released the same year. In 2020 Snelle continued moving toward a more pop-oriented format with “Vierentwintig,” while remaining rooted in the Dutch hip-hop scene and increasing occasional collaborations with artists such as Maan and Suzan & Freek. His project is built around an accessible aesthetic dominated by mid-tempo productions, clear vocals and a delivery that alternates between rap and singing, often centered on relationships, family and observations of everyday life.
