Bebe Stockwell
Born and raised in Boston, Bebe Stockwell developed a singer-songwriter craft nurtured early on by piano, guitar and composition, which she practiced from childhood. Her first guitar teacher, an author and musician who came from the bluegrass scene before joining Della Mae, steered her toward country and folk — two strands that remain central in Bebe Stockwell’s musical world alongside a more indie and pop sensibility. At 15, participation in Berklee College of Music’s five-week summer program broadened her musical scope by exposing her to jazz, indie and pop writing, contributing to the flexibility of her songs. For Bebe Stockwell, the form stays direct and story-centered, with lyrics drawn from observation, emotion, films, books and everyday tales. This approach places her repertoire between contemporary folk, singer-songwriter country and acoustic pop, driven by a strong taste for narrative and clear melodies.
