Erika de Casier
Born in Portugal and based in Denmark since childhood, Erika de Casier has developed in Copenhagen a songwriting style at the crossroads of contemporary R&B, pop and trip-hop. Her productions are supple and often minimalist, with breakbeat textures, early‑2000s references and a discreet taste for bossa nova occasionally surfacing. Erika first appeared as part of the R&B duo Saint Cava, active in the mid‑2010s and having played festivals such as Roskilde, before pursuing a solo career while remaining close to the Danish electronic scene associated with the Regelbau collective. After the early singles “What U Wanna Do?” and “Intimate”, she released the album Essentials in 2019 on her own label Independent Jeep, then joined 4AD and issued Sensational in 2021, an album that refines a more direct and introspective writing. This was followed by The Sensational Remixes (2021), Still (2024) and Lifetime (2025). Alongside her releases, Erika de Casier produced a remix of Dua Lipa’s “Physical” in 2020, collaborated with Mura Masa, Shygirl and Blood Orange, and in 2023 co‑wrote several tracks on NewJeans’ EP Get Up, including “Super Shy” and “Cool with You”.
