Coach Party

Born on the Isle of Wight in England, Coach Party formed in 2019 around Jess Eastwood, Joe Perry, Steph Norris and Guy Page, after an initial period under the name Jeph. The quartet inhabits a tense, melodic British indie rock built on incisive guitars, a tight rhythm section and short songs that retain a pop anchor without smoothing out their edge. Signed to Chess Club the same year, Coach Party first released a series of singles and then the EP Party Food in 2020, followed by After Party in 2021 and Nothing Is Real in 2022 — releases that established the band on the English indie scene. Their lyrics often address personal unease, fraught relationships and intimate contradictions, delivered in a frank tone that contrasts with the immediacy of the music. In 2023 they released their debut album Killjoy, followed by Caramel in 2025. Drawing on independent rock roots, a light post‑punk tension and a strong sense of melody, Coach Party have developed a compact, direct and no‑nonsense formula, powered by very tight collective playing.
