YHWH Nailgun

Born in Philadelphia in 2020 before settling in New York, YHWH Nailgun formed around Zack Borzone and Sam Pickard, later joined by Jack Tobias and Saguiv Rosenstock, shaping into a quartet where experimental rock, noise rock, post-punk and post-rock intersect. YHWH Nailgun develops tense, jagged music built from dissonant guitars, abrasive synths, tightly interlocked polyrhythms and vocals often pushed toward incantation, a shout or a scansion. The band first emerged on the DIY circuit with the singles “White Sleepy” and “Mallet” in 2020, then with the EP YHWH Nailgun in 2022, followed the same year by No Midwife and I Wingflap. Rooted in New York’s underground scene, YHWH Nailgun plays small venues and festivals, including SXSW, while evolving its language toward a more compact form where punk energy meets more fragmented structures and electronic textures. This trajectory led to 45 Pounds, released in 2025 on AD 93, and to Magazine in 2026 on 4AD, two records that extend YHWH Nailgun’s very physical, angular approach.
