Truck Violence

Based in Montreal, Truck Violence centers on Paul Lecours and Karsyn Henderson, who moved from the Alberta Prairies in 2021 before expanding the project into a four-piece with Chris Clegg and Thomas Hart. That journey between country and city runs through Truck Violence’s music, which blends hardcore, folk and country with elements of punk, shoegaze and sludge in a raw, tense and confrontational register. Before settling on this name, the band went through earlier incarnations, including No Cru5t and Truck, and quickly became part of Montreal’s punk and underground scene, appearing at events such as FME and Taverne Tour. Under the name Truck they released Hinterlands in 2023, an album where hardcore coexists with electronic textures and experimental rap. With Violence, released in 2024, Truck Violence tightened its formula toward a more organic sound, where rhythmic violence remains tied to marked folk roots. Truck Violence’s lyrics address addiction, abuse and family dysfunction in rural settings, maintaining a direct writing style rooted in lived experience.
