TALK
Under the name TALK, Nicholas Durocher has been developing from Ontario a style that sits between indie rock, pop-rock and singer-songwriter music. Born in Ottawa and having spent time in Stittsville, the Canadian musician worked for several years in the music scene—most notably as a bassist in a country band—before launching his solo project in the early 2020s. TALK released the song "Run Away to Mars" in June 2021 and the EP Talk to Me later that year. His approach relies on melodic tracks driven by expansive choruses and direct songwriting, rooted in accessible alternative rock while retaining a more intimate, confessional edge. In 2023, TALK took part in the collective recording of "What I Wouldn’t Do" around Serena Ryder, and went on to release several singles, including "Afraid of the Dark", "A Little Bit Happy" and "Wasteland". His debut album, Lord of the Flies & Birds & Bees, came out in 2023. That same year TALK also appeared on several major Canadian stages, notably as an opening act for some dates on Shania Twain’s tour, extending a path that began outside the most high-profile circuits.
