Wrabel
Based in Los Angeles, American singer-songwriter Wrabel, born Stephen Wrabel on Long Island, cultivates a pop universe centered on voice and piano, favoring intimate ballads and highly narrative songwriting. After attending Berklee College of Music and relocating to the West Coast, he began writing for other artists before releasing his own material, moving between pop performance and collaborations in electronic music. His international breakthrough came in 2014 with Afrojack’s “Ten Feet Tall,” for which he provided vocals and co-wrote the song; he followed this with the solo EP Sideways (2014). Singles such as “11 Blocks” (2016) and “The Village” (2017) established a repertoire that blends mainstream pop, piano ballads and LGBTQ+ themes. The EPs We Could Be Beautiful (2017) and one of those happy people (2019) preceded the album these words are all for you (2021), consolidating a discography in which Wrabel alternates writing for others with a career under his own name.
