Davina Michelle
Born in 1995 in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel in the Netherlands, Davina Michelle — born Michelle Davina Hoogendoorn — first gained attention on the TV show Idols in 2016 before developing her career through a YouTube channel focused on covers. Her 2017 rendition of P!nk’s “What About Us” attracted an international audience and paved the way for her own singles. Davina Michelle has moved toward a modern pop sound with electronic touches, blending vocal ballads and more uptempo tracks, with lyrics mainly in English but also in Dutch. From 2017, songs such as “Skyward” and “Duurt Te Lang” gradually established her name on the Dutch scene, while the long‑format project My Own World, released in 2020, brought together her pop directions and songwriting centered on resilience and personal relationships. She has since increased collaborations in studio and on stage, notably connected to sports and major events, and in 2021 took part in the show “The Power of Water” at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam with the song “Sweet Water.” Active both in studio and live performance, Davina Michelle continues to ground her music in melodic pop designed for a wide audience, between contemporary production and a prominent vocal interpretation.
