Hermanos Gutierrez
Based in Zurich, the Hermanos Gutierrez project brings together brothers Alejandro and Estevan Gutierrez, born in Switzerland to a family with Ecuadorian roots, and devoted to instrumental music centered on the dialogue between two guitars. Emerging in the mid-2010s, the duo has developed a pared-down approach that blends twilit western atmospheres, echoes of Latin American music, slow surf, and touches of Americana—an idiom often described as cinematic. Hermanos Gutierrez self-released their debut album, "8 Años," in 2017, followed by "El Camino de mi Alma" (2018), "Hoy como Ayer" (2019), and "Hijos del Sol" (2020), gradually establishing an aesthetic of simple melodies, spacious reverberation, and restrained tempos. With "Alegría" (2021) and then "El Bueno y El Malo" (2022), recorded with producer Dan Auerbach, the duo expands its international reach and establishes itself on European and American independent stages, from intimate venues and festivals to circuits dedicated to contemporary instrumental music.
