Skinshape

Skinshape is the studio project of British musician and producer William Dorey, who composes and records almost everything himself, blending funk and 60s/70s reggae, soul, psychedelic rock, afrobeat, folk and library-music sounds. Obsessed with warm, organic textures, he works largely in analogue and crafts tracks that are at once laid-back and intricately arranged, driven by supple bass lines and hazy guitars. A former bassist for the band Palace and founder of the reggae label Horus Records, he has developed a rich discography that includes key albums such as Skinshape, Oracolo, Life & Love, Filoxiny, Umoja, Arrogance Is the Death of Men and Nostalgia, which have established his distinctive world between introspective chill and cinematic groove.
