LP

Under the name LP, Laura Pergolizzi has built a career from New York at the crossroads of pop rock, indie pop and a folk-inflected songwriting style marked by crisp choruses and a raspy vocal timbre. Born in Huntington, New York, LP emerged in the early 2000s with the albums Heart-Shaped Scar (2001) and Suburban Sprawl & Alcohol (2004), before continuing her path with both personal projects and songwriting for other performers, including Rihanna, Christina Aguilera and Cher. That songwriting work fostered a direct approach focused on melody and emotional tensions, which LP brought back to the fore with Forever for Now (2014). The song "Lost on You," from the album Lost on You (2016), then expanded her international visibility and established a broader format, spanning ballads, alternative pop and melodic rock. LP extended that direction on Heart to Mouth (2018), Churches (2021) and Love Lines (2023), maintaining an aesthetic where guitars, contemporary pop production and more organic touches coexist. Highly visible on European and North American stages, LP moves between festivals, rock venues and pop lineups with a repertoire built around voice, songwriting and a deliberately pared-down expression.
