Irène Drésel
Born in Rueil‑Malmaison as Irène Billard, Irène Drésel grew up in the Paris region. She studied piano, solfège and classical dance before attending the Beaux‑Arts de Paris and the Gobelins, initially following a visual arts path that combined photography, video and installation. Under the name Irène Drésel, from the mid‑2010s she developed electronic music positioned between techno, hypnotic electro and melodic songwriting, characterised by repetitive motifs, dry percussion and a floral visual aesthetic that extends her plastic art. After a first EP, Rita, in 2017, she released the albums Hyper Cristal (2019), Kinky Dogma (2021) and Rose Fluo (2024). Her live shows, often conceived as visual performances, play an important role in her career; on stage she notably performs with percussionist Sizo Del Givry. Alongside her record releases, she composes for film, writing the score for À plein temps in 2021, a work that earned her the César for best original music in 2023. The same year she also collaborated with Jean‑Michel Jarre on 'Zeitgeist Botanica' for the album Oxymoreworks.
