Dombrance

French producer and DJ active since the early 2000s, Dombrance, born Bertrand Lacombe in Bordeaux, creates electronic music that sits between house, disco, synth-pop and Italo influences, driven by repetitive bass lines and highly structured synthetic melodies. Based in Paris, he first attracted attention with his productions and remixes for the French indie and electro scene before founding the duo DBFC with David Shaw, a project where guitars, drums and electronic textures intersect in a format closer to a rock band than a club live set. As a solo artist, Dombrance has refined a very narrative musical language, playing on the gradual build-up of sequences and a rhythmic writing conceived for both DJ sets and live performance. From the late 2010s he launched a series of tracks inspired first by French and then by American political figures, treated as musical portraits that blend light irony and pop culture while remaining within the instrumental register of dance music. His performances, often accompanied by visual setups, circulate between clubs, contemporary music stages and festivals in France and across Europe, where he adapts his compositions to hybrid formats between electro concerts and DJ performances.
