Ayron Jones
Born on August 23, 1986, in Seattle, Washington, Ayron Jones is largely self-taught on piano, drums and later guitar, with early roots in gospel and soul. Initially active on the local scene with Ayron Jones and the Way, he developed a songwriting approach that sits between alternative rock, blues rock, hard rock and soulful melodies, in an aesthetic that nods to Seattle’s musical context without being limited to it. This trajectory first took recorded form with Dream in 2013, produced by Sir Mix-a-Lot, and later with the more overtly autobiographical Audio Paint Job in 2017. As a solo artist he broadened his audience with songs like Take Me Away and Mercy, before releasing Child of the State in 2021. His music relies on prominent guitars, an expressive voice and a steady tension between heavy riffs, open choruses and rhythm-and-blues influences. Between clubs, rock venues and festivals, Ayron Jones occupies an American trajectory where Seattle’s rock legacy, personal songwriting and a strong live format coexist.
