Vladimir Dubyshkin

Russian producer and DJ based in Tambov, Vladimir Dubyshkin has developed since the mid-2010s a distinctive approach to techno, driven by fast rhythms, simple melodic motifs and fragmented vocal samples. Noticed by Nina Kraviz’s label трип (Trip), he released the EP ‘Rural Woman’ in 2015 and ‘Cheerful Pessimist’ in 2018, and contributed to several label compilations that helped circulate his work beyond the Russian electronic scene. His music ranges from hypnotic techno to accentuated house and an energy close to ghetto-tech, marked by a taste for repetitive structures, minimal variations and an occasionally ironic use of voices and slogans. Alongside his studio releases, Vladimir Dubyshkin performs DJ sets and live shows in clubs and festivals across Europe and Russia, where he translates this blend of rhythmic tension, direct grooves and catchy melodic motifs.
