MRD

Emerging from the Norwegian club scene, MRD develops electronic music at the intersection of several dance-music traditions, with a marked taste for melancholic melodies, cold textures and taut rhythms. His trajectory includes production across broader registers — from pop to hip-hop — before refocusing on a more personal format in which MRD also incorporates his voice on certain productions. This path feeds a hybrid sound where elements of dark techno, new wave, ambient and hardcore meet, without locking into a single aesthetic. MRD’s tracks alternate between direct, club-ready sequences and more introspective passages, with constant attention to harmonic colour and narrative tension. As a producer and DJ, MRD operates between local scenes and more international electronic networks, releasing both original tracks and remixes. The MRD project thus rests on a balance between club culture, 1980s synthetic references and a contemporary approach to electronic music.
