Mousse T.

Producer and DJ based in Hanover, Mousse T., born Mustafa Gündoğdu in Hagen (Germany) in 1966 into a family of Turkish origin, developed from the late 1980s a house approach heavily infused with funk, soul and disco. Active on the German scene from the early 1990s, he first worked in studios in Hanover before co-founding the Peppermint Jam Records label in 1993, which became the main platform for his productions and for many vocal house artists. Mousse T.’s international profile rose in the late 1990s when the single “Horny ’98” opened access to clubs and radio beyond Germany, and later through his collaboration with Tom Jones on “Sex Bomb”. His debut album “Gourmet de Funk” was released in 1998 and established a signature combining live groove, soulful bass lines and song formats, followed in 2004 by “All Nite Madness”, centred on house and pop tracks notably featuring Emma Lanford. Alongside his club maxis, Mousse T. produced numerous remixes for British and American pop, soul and dance artists and regularly collaborated with vocalists such as Inaya Day. A frequent presence in DJ sets at clubs and festivals across Europe, he alternates dancefloor-oriented productions, compilations and work for film and television in Germany, maintaining over time an accessible, melodic house aesthetic shaped by funk culture.
