Oh Wonder

Based in London, the alternative pop duo Oh Wonder comprises singer‑songwriters Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West, active since the mid‑2010s. The project first attracted attention in 2014 through a series of tracks released regularly online, an approach that led to a self‑titled debut album, “Oh Wonder”, released in 2015 and characterised by songs built around blended vocals, understated keyboards and slow rhythms close to contemporary R&B. Oh Wonder then moved toward a more assertive, luminous pop with “Ultralife” in 2017, and explored still‑melodic but more produced textures on “No One Else Can Wear Your Crown” in 2020. Between indie pop, soft electro‑pop and minimalist ballads, Oh Wonder’s sound rests on a constant vocal dialogue, simple structures and lyrics focused on relationships and everyday life. From 2015 the duo stepped up touring across the UK, Europe and North America, performing on club and international festival stages and occasionally collaborating with electronic music producers. In 2021 Oh Wonder tackled more introspective themes with the album “22 Break”, extended in 2022 by “22 Make”, which continues this intimate songwriting against an accessible electronic pop backdrop.
