Daya
Born in 1998 in Pittsburgh, United States, Grace Martine Tandon developed a modern pop project early on under the name Daya, positioned between radio-friendly songs and electronic sounds. Trained in piano, voice and songwriting, Daya was noticed as a teenager in her hometown before signing her first tracks in Los Angeles. The release of the single “Hide Away” in 2015 opened the doors to mainstream pop and led that same year to a first eponymous EP, simply titled “Daya”. In 2016 she released the album “Sit Still, Look Pretty”, which established a style blending pop and electropop, a clear vocal delivery and hooks crafted for both radio and festival stages. At the same time, Daya became part of the mainstream electronic music landscape through her contribution to The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down” and collaborations with dance- and EDM-oriented producers, reinforcing her presence on international pop and club stages. Her subsequent discography includes the EP “The Difference” (2019) and “In Between Dreams” (2022), where the artist refines a more personal songwriting approach, employing mid-tempos, melodic electro-pop production and an emphasis on introspective lyrics.
