Metrik

At the intersection of melodic drum & bass and electro and trance influences, Metrik has developed since the mid-2000s an aesthetic centered on cinematic atmospheres and catchy vocal lines. Based in London, the British producer and DJ first drew attention with a series of maxis and EPs released notably on Viper Recordings, before joining Hospital Records where Metrik consolidated his identity with futuristic sonics, club energy, and song-like formats. The album “Universal Language” (2014) marked an important early milestone, followed by “Life/Thrills” (2016) and “Ex Machina” (2020), which extended this approach to drum & bass that is both powerful and melodic. Alongside his productions, Metrik has been prolific with remixes and collaborations within the British bass scene, while developing a DJ side very much geared toward live performance, appearing on Hospital tours and at many European festivals. This dual studio-and-club activity places Metrik where rave culture intersects with pop-oriented arrangements and detailed electronic textures.
