Koven

Formed in England around producer Max Rowat and joined in 2014 by singer Katie Boyle, Koven operates within an electronic sound centered on drum and bass and dubstep, with forays into trap, future bass, house and pop songwriting with cinematic touches. The project began in 2011 under Rowat’s direction, initially featuring various vocalists, before the current lineup coalesced with the single “Another Home” and the EPs Hereinafter, Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 in 2014, followed by Sometimes We Are in 2015. Koven released Come to Light in 2016 and Reality Reach in 2018, with releases on Viper Recordings and Monstercat—two important labels in their trajectory. Koven’s music mixes soaring melodies, heavy bass, sung choruses and darker textures in a format that alternates club effectiveness and vocal storytelling. Butterfly Effect, released in 2020, marked the debut album and was extended with a deluxe edition in 2021, followed by Higher Ground (Part 1) in 2022, Higher Ground (Part 2) in 2023 and Moments In Everglow in 2025. Koven has also collaborated with Modestep, Dabin, Delta Heavy, ShockOne and Steve Aoki, and the project has featured on BBC Radio 1 and at festivals such as Tomorrowland, Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds. Since 2018 Katie Boyle has carried Koven’s stage presence alone, combining a DJ set with live singing.
