Meghan Trainor

Born in Nantucket, Massachusetts, in 1993, Meghan Trainor grew up in a music-centered household and began writing her own songs at an early age. Before being noticed by the industry, she self-released three albums between 2009 and 2011, then moved into a songwriting role in Nashville, supplying songs to various pop and country artists. The release of the single “All About That Bass” in 2014 was a turning point and led to the album Title (2015), which blends mainstream pop with nods to 1950s and 1960s doo-wop, touches of R&B and prominent vocal arrangements. With Thank You (2016), Trainor expanded her palette toward a more dance-pop sound influenced by hip-hop, while Treat Myself (2020) emphasized electronic production and collaborations with other contemporary pop voices. That same year, A Very Trainor Christmas offered a mix of original compositions and covers of standards, before Takin’ It Back (2022) reaffirmed her commitment to an unapologetically retro pop rooted in pronounced bass lines and immediate choruses. In 2024, the album Timeless continued this interplay between vintage references and modern production. Alongside her records and tours, Trainor regularly appears on English-language television as a judge or coach on music shows, an activity that complements her image as an artist focused on writing direct songs often about self-esteem, romantic relationships and everyday life.
