Charlie Puth

Born in 1991 in Rumson, New Jersey, Charlie Puth first drew attention in the early 2010s with his YouTube videos, where he shared pop covers and original songs. After attending Berklee College of Music and gaining early experience with the eleveneleven label, Puth established himself in American pop by joining Atlantic Records and co-writing the 2015 hit “See You Again” with Wiz Khalifa. That same year, the EP “Some Type of Love” paved the way for his debut album, “Nine Track Mind,” released in 2016, defined by melodic pop with soul and R&B inflections, highlighted by duets with Meghan Trainor and Selena Gomez. With “Voicenotes” in 2018, Puth tightened his songwriting around a more minimalist sound driven by funk bass lines and prominent vocal harmonies, asserting himself as a songwriter-producer involved in every part of the creative process. The 2022 album “Charlie” extends this approach by incorporating more electronic textures and a highly personal lyrical dimension, notably through his collaboration with Jungkook. Ranging from radio-friendly pop and piano ballads to more R&B-leaning tracks, Charlie Puth crafts an aesthetic centered on melody, a keen sense of harmonic detail, and meticulous production that he also brings to the stage on international tours.
