Jason Derulo

Born in Miramar, Florida, to a family of Haitian descent, Jason Derulo — whose real name is Jason Joel Desrouleaux — first made his mark as a songwriter for other rap and R&B artists before launching a solo career in the late 2000s. He developed a sound at the intersection of pop, contemporary R&B, and dance-pop, with melodic hooks tailored for radio and clubs. His self-titled debut album arrived in 2010, powered by the singles "Whatcha Say," "In My Head," and "Ridin’ Solo." He followed in 2011 with "Future History," which cemented a more electronic, dance-oriented direction. In 2013, "Tattoos" was released internationally, followed in 2014 by a U.S. version titled "Talk Dirty," featuring collaborations with 2 Chainz and Snoop Dogg. The 2015 album "Everything Is 4" continued this formula, blending sung R&B, pop influences, and rhythms aligned with mainstream electronic music. Alongside his studio output, Derulo embarked on world tours, appeared on numerous pop and hip-hop collaborations, and made occasional television and film appearances, consolidating his place on the international stage throughout the 2010s.
