Joyce Muniz

Born in São Paulo in 1983 and based in Vienna, Joyce Muniz has built a career at the crossroads of house, techno and club‑oriented electronic music with occasional electro and pop inflections. Brazilian and Austrian, she began performing as a teenager at 16 and has since worked as a DJ, singer and producer in various settings, both solo and in collaboration. Over the years her name has appeared on releases linked to outfits such as G‑Stone and Klein Records, placing her within a Viennese scene open to exchanges between electronic music, songwriting and club culture. In 2010 she reached a wider audience by featuring on Skero’s track 'Kabinenparty', a visible moment in her trajectory that does not, however, encapsulate her entire output. Her work remains primarily rooted in the club, favouring direct rhythms, dark or ironic textures and formats conceived for the dancefloor. In 2022 Joyce Muniz also appears in the documentary series Call me DJ!, devoted to the position of women in a still largely male environment.
