Lars Winnerbäck
Born in Stockholm in 1975 and raised in Linköping, Lars Winnerbäck has established himself in Swedish song with Swedish-language writing that blends pop, rock, folk, and acoustic formats. After beginnings in the punk group Snoddas in the early 1990s, Lars Winnerbäck launched his solo career with Dans med svåra steg in 1996, then quickly refined a singer-songwriter register carried by guitar, harmonica, and everyday-life lyrics, often melancholic, anchored in urban landscapes and ordinary life. Over the years, Lars Winnerbäck develops a repertoire closely tied to the live scene, first with his accompanying band Hovet, present on a substantial part of his tours, then with other musicians depending on the projects. His discography includes Rusningstrafik (1997), Kom (1999), Singel (2001), Söndermarken (2003), Vatten under broarna (2004), Daugava (2007), Tänk om jag ångrar mig, och sen ångrar mig igen (2009), Hosianna (2013), Granit och morän (2016), Eldtuppen (2019), Själ och hjärta (2022) and Neutronstjärnan (2023). He has also collaborated with artists such as Miss Li, Per Gessle or Johnossi, while producing records for Elin Sigvardsson and Lisa Ekdahl. Depending on periods, his sound ranges from a stripped folk-rock to denser and more atmospheric arrangements, with a constant focus on narration and phrasing.
