Den svenska björnstammen
Trained in Norrköping, Sweden at the turn of the 2010s, Den svenska björnstammen brings together several musicians around a register where Swedish-language pop crosses electronica, dream pop and indie rock accents. The band first drew attention with the EP Classics in 2008 and then Dansmusik EP in 2010, before taking on greater scope in 2011 with the track "Vart jag mig i världen vänder", followed notably by "Svalkar vinden" and "Trumma trumma". In its writing and arranging, Den svenska björnstammen blends choral refrains, danceable rhythms, synthetic textures and more melancholic tonalities, with a marked taste for contrasts between the immediacy of pop and more floating atmospheres. Their studio discography includes Ett fel närmare rätt in 2012, then two albums released in 2014, I förhållande till and Country, before Iskanten in 2019 and Djur och människa in 2022. Over the years, the collective has preserved this identity that is both pop and introspective, while widening its scope with occasional collaborations such as "Country" with Maj Monet or "Förlorare utan chans" with Thomas Stenström. Den svenska björnstammen thus evolves along a line where contemporary Swedish song, electronic energy and indie sensibility remain closely linked.
