Logic
Born in Rockville and raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Logic, whose real name is Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, first made his mark on the American independent rap scene with mixtapes like Young, Broke & Infamous (2010), Young Sinatra (2011), Young Sinatra: Undeniable (2012) and Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever (2013). His rap sits within DMV hip‑hop, characterized by dense lyricism, rapid delivery and production that blends boom‑bap, melodic rap and more contemporary formats. After signing to Def Jam in 2013, Logic released Under Pressure (2014) and The Incredible True Story (2015), two albums that established his taste for personal narratives and conceptual constructions. He subsequently explored several directions: the more confrontational tone of the Bobby Tarantino series (2016, 2018, 2021), the introspective approach on Everybody (2017), YSIV (2018) and No Pressure (2020), and a turn toward alternative rock with Supermarket (2019). Over his career he has collaborated with the likes of No I.D., 6ix, Eminem, Alessia Cara, Khalid, Wu‑Tang Clan and Madlib. After Vinyl Days (2022), his final album on Def Jam, Logic returned to a more independent approach with College Park (2023) and Ultra 85 (2024), while also developing instrumental, writing and audiovisual projects in parallel.
