Wiz Khalifa

Born in 1987 in Minot, North Dakota, and raised in Pittsburgh, Wiz Khalifa emerged in the mid‑2000s on the American rap scene with a run of mixtapes and an independent debut album, “Show and Prove,” in 2006. Following the single “Say Yeah” in 2008 and the album “Deal or No Deal” in 2009, he drew attention with the 2010 mixtape “Kush & Orange Juice,” which defined an aesthetic blending melodic rap, sung hooks, and a universe closely tied to cannabis culture. His 2011 album “Rolling Papers,” driven in particular by “Black and Yellow,” positioned him at the center of mainstream hip‑hop, spanning rap, pop‑rap, and more club‑leaning sounds. Khalifa followed with “O.N.I.F.C.” (2012), “Blacc Hollywood” (2014), “Khalifa” (2016), and “Rolling Papers 2” (2018), while frequently collaborating with artists such as Snoop Dogg and Curren$y — notably on the “Mac & Devin Go to High School” soundtrack released in 2011. Alongside standout moments like “See You Again” for the “Furious 7” soundtrack in 2015, Wiz Khalifa has maintained a steady presence in the studio and on stage through to the 2022 album “Multiverse.”
