Jon Allen

Born in Winchester, England, in 1977, Jon Allen developed a songwriting style rooted in the British folk‑rock tradition, balancing acoustic ballads with soul and blues influences. After studying at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, he settled in London and began performing regularly in small venues, first solo with guitar and voice and later with a band. The placement of his song “Going Home” in a UK advertising campaign gave him initial visibility and preceded the release of his debut album Dead Man’s Suit in 2009, noted for its organic sound and spare arrangements. He followed with Sweet Defeat in 2011, Deep River in 2014 and Blue Flame in 2018, building record by record a catalogue of songs focused on voice, intimate storytelling and straightforward melodies. Active on the live circuit across the UK and Europe, he alternates between stripped‑down shows and more electric configurations, while songwriting remains at the core of his identity as a singer‑songwriter.
