Izo FitzRoy

Based in London, Izo FitzRoy has developed a project that sits between soul, gospel and blues, driven by a full-bodied voice and a strong taste for vocal arrangements. Trained in choral singing, she spent many years singing with, directing and mentoring touring choirs—an experience that continues to inform both her songwriting and her stage approach. Her songs blend blues intensity, soul lyricism and gospel harmonies, with keyboard parts that occasionally nod to jazz. Izo FitzRoy released Skyline in 2017 and How The Mighty Fall in 2020, two albums that establish a repertoire focused on performance-ready songs in an organic, collective format. On stage she favors a setup where voices are central, often supported by gospel backing vocalists who extend the dynamic range of her compositions. Active on the British and European soul, blues and groove circuits, Izo FitzRoy is developing a path at the crossroads of African-American heritage, choral tradition and contemporary pop-soul songwriting.
