Ntjam Rosie
Born in Sonkoe, Cameroon, and based in the Netherlands since childhood, Ntjam Rosie has developed in Rotterdam a musical identity that connects modern jazz with soul, R&B and Afro influences. Trained at the Codarts conservatory, she began to gain recognition on the Dutch scene in the mid‑2000s while also making early appearances across Europe. Her debut album “Atouba” was released in 2008, followed by “Elle” in 2010, which refined a blend of intimate songs, soulful grooves and jazz arrangements. With “Live at Grounds” (2012) she documented her group work on stage, before broadening her palette on “The One” (2015) and “Breaking Cycles” (2017), where Afro rhythms, subtle electronic touches and melody‑centred vocal writing intersect. The album “Home Cooking” (2019) returns to a warmer, more domestic atmosphere, featuring a repertoire sung primarily in English with traces of her Cameroonian roots. Regularly invited to clubs and jazz venues in the Netherlands and beyond, Ntjam Rosie alternates between quartet projects, more orchestrated formats and occasional collaborations with jazz and soul musicians from the European scene.
