Mica Millar

Based in Manchester, British singer, songwriter and producer Mica Millar develops a soul world nourished by jazz, blues and gospel, with a strong emphasis on vocal harmonies and retro atmospheres. Mica Millar gradually made a name for herself on the British scene through concerts and independent recordings, before releasing her debut album, “Heaven Knows”, in 2022 — a record she wrote, arranged and produced herself. Mastered at Abbey Road Studios, this contemporary soul/jazz album explores themes such as human nature, spirituality, love, oppression and social inequalities, relying on organic orchestrations and influences drawn from African‑American music of the 1960s and 1970s. Her music receives regular airplay on specialist and mainstream radio across the UK, including broadcasts on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music in programmes by Trevor Nelson, Craig Charles and Jamie Cullum, anchoring Mica Millar in the current soul revival. On stage, the artist has developed a lineup geared toward acoustic live performance, presents her repertoire in various venues across the UK and has begun performing on the European mainland, notably at the Paris jazz club Duc des Lombards.
