Kiddy Smile

Based in Paris, Kiddy Smile, whose real name is Pierre Hache, has developed since the early 2010s a career situated between house, pop and ballroom culture, drawing as much on 1990s house as on R&B and the queer club scene. Initially active as a DJ and performer in Parisian nightlife, he gained attention with several maxi singles and tracks released from 2012, before bringing his influences together on the 2018 album “One Trick Pony,” where gospel, voguing and pop songwriting intersect. Kiddy Smile’s songs, often sung in English with occasional French passages, address LGBT identities, the relationship to the body and social class issues over productions designed for the dancefloor. Regularly invited to festival stages and clubs across Europe, he blends performance, dance and DJ sets while maintaining a strong connection to French ballroom culture. Through collaborations with musicians, dancers and collectives from that scene, Kiddy Smile has established himself as a central figure within that artistic network, while continuing a career as producer, remixer and performer at the crossroads of pop and electronic music.
