Demon

Demon is the project of producer and DJ Jérémie Mondon, originally from Paris. Initially associated with the French touch movement and the 20000ST label, Demon develops a melodic house sound informed by funk, disco and R&B, built around prominent basslines, heavily chopped vocals and moderate tempos. The release of the album Midnight Funk in 1999 established this blend of introspective groove and club‑oriented dance music, followed by several maxi singles that circulated in European clubs. In 2000 the single "You Are My High" crystallized the slower, more sensual side of Demon’s house and opened the artist to an audience beyond the Parisian scene, resulting over the years in various reissues and versions. Alongside his solo productions, Demon has produced numerous remixes and studio collaborations with artists from electronic music as well as pop and hip‑hop, while continuing his work as a DJ and adapting his repertoire to settings ranging from intimate clubs to festival stages. Through these projects, Demon continues to explore the points of contact between French touch heritage, club culture and more pop‑oriented formats.
