CABAL

Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, CABAL is part of the contemporary extreme metal scene with a deathcore sound strongly tinged by black metal. The band emphasizes very dark atmospheres, slow to mid-tempo pacing, and massive rhythmic textures. Formed during the 2010s, CABAL first emerged through a series of singles and an initial EP before releasing the album Mark of Rot in 2018, which established their aesthetic of guttural vocals, very low-tuned guitars, and repetitive, oppressive structures. In 2020 they followed with Drag Me Down, where the sound gained melodic density while maintaining a focus on dissonance and rhythmic tension; in 2022 came Magno Interitus, marked by more developed songwriting and the inclusion of slower, almost ritualistic passages. On stage, CABAL primarily tours Europe and the United Kingdom as support or co-bills with extreme metal acts, and they occasionally collaborate with vocalists from the deathcore sphere. Across these releases and tours, CABAL refines a sonic language that blends death metal, black metal, and modern hardcore influences within a tightly controlled, repetitive framework, giving great importance to atmosphere and saturation.
