Justice
Born in Paris in 2003 around Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, Justice belongs to the second wave of the French touch, with a style that mixes electro house, electronic rock, nu disco and 1970s–1980s pop. Justice first emerged through remixes, notably the Simian remix that became We Are Your Friends, and then through tracks like Waters of Nazareth and D.A.N.C.E., where very direct melodic lines intersect saturated textures, punchy basses and a sense of the chorus inherited as much from rock as from disco. Associated from the start with the Ed Banger label, Justice quickly developed a strong visual and stage identity, moving from clubs to major festivals and international tours. The first album † was released in 2007, followed by Audio, Video, Disco in 2011, which steered the duo toward songwriting more influenced by classic rock and progressive pop, then Woman in 2016 and Hyperdrama in 2024. At the same time Justice has produced numerous remixes and collaborations—from MGMT to Tame Impala—while evolving their concerts into performances conceived as full audiovisual experiences.
