Junior Jack
Born in Rutigliano, in Apulia, and based in Brussels since adolescence, Junior Jack, real name Vito Lucente, develops a journey between Italy and Belgium that crosses several European dance scenes. After beginnings in the 1990s as a producer on projects of acid house, eurodance and Belgian pop, notably around Benny B, he redirects his work toward house under the names Mr. Jack then Junior Jack. His universe sits in warm and direct house, nourished by funk, disco and filtered grooves, with a songwriting approach designed for the club without losing a song format. Junior Jack signs several tracks played in clubs around the turn of the 2000s, among which 'My Feeling', 'E Samba', 'Da Hype' with Robert Smith, and 'Stupidisco', then releases the album Trust It in 2004. In parallel, Vito Lucente leads with Room 5 a more disco-house angle, marked by 'Make Luv' with Oliver Cheatham and the album Music & You in 2003. His work also extended into remixes, often in connection with Kid Creme, with whom he forms a regular duo on the Belgian house scene. Junior Jack remains associated with a 2000s club aesthetic, between vocal house, disco loops and flexible electronic production, thought for the dancefloor as well as listening.
