Jessie Ware

Born in London in 1984 and raised in Clapham, Jessie Ware first entered the British pop and electronic scene as a backing vocalist for Jack Peñate and as a collaborator with SBTRKT, Sampha and Joker, before launching her solo project in the early 2010s. Her music blends contemporary soul, R&B, sophisticated pop and electronic textures, with songwriting that emphasizes voice, harmonies and often pared‑down production. Jessie Ware released Devotion in 2012, followed by Tough Love in 2014 and Glasshouse in 2017—three albums that occupy a space between soulful balladry, nocturnal pop and discreet club influences. With What's Your Pleasure? in 2020 she shifted her sound toward an aesthetic more directly tied to disco, dance‑pop and late‑1970s/1980s club music, a direction she continued on That! Feels Good! in 2023. Over the course of her career Ware has also written and recorded with Florence Welch, Ed Sheeran, Kylie Minogue and Nicki Minaj, while alternating theatre tours, festival appearances and audio projects alongside her musical work.
