Jungle
Born in London around Josh Lloyd‑Watson and Tom McFarland, childhood friends from Shepherd’s Bush, Jungle emerged in the early 2010s as a studio project before expanding into a larger live ensemble. Jungle produces a pop‑soul rooted in funk, disco, light psychedelia and electronic production, featuring supple basslines, strongly defined rhythms and vocals often placed in the falsetto register. First introduced through a series of singles in 2013, Jungle released a self‑titled debut in 2014, followed by For Ever (2018), Loving in Stereo (2021) and Volcano (2023). Across these records the duo refined a more direct, melodic songwriting approach without abandoning a taste for circular grooves, layered choirs and a visual aesthetic closely tied to their music—particularly evident in their choreographed videos. Between contemporary soul, British 'white funk' and danceable pop, Jungle sits within a London scene open to blending vintage heritage with modern production, creating work intended both for listening and for the stage.
