James Blake
Originally from the London suburbs, James Blake is an electronic musician who, after completing his studies, devoted himself to music. Although he pursued a path in electronic music, he was introduced to music at a very young age by his father, a guitarist. In 2009 James Blake released 'Hair & Lack Thereof', which was championed by Gilles Peterson, a key figure in the acid jazz scene and a Radio 1 presenter. Thanks to the programme in which Gilles Peterson featured him, the musician's career took off, and in 2011 James Blake released a much-anticipated self-titled debut album. Thrust into the spotlight, James Blake was quickly regarded as the British phenomenon of electronic music. His rising profile allowed him to collaborate with artists such as Bon Iver and Kanye West. Building on this experience, James Blake released the album 'Overgrown' in 2013 (on the Mercury label) at the age of 24. With that record he performed at the Days Off festival and at a club night at the Social Club.
