Gabrielle Aplin
Born in Bath in 1992 and raised in Wiltshire, Gabrielle Aplin early on built a repertoire of covers and original songs that she shared online before gaining recognition on the British folk-pop scene. Initially self-released, she issued the "Acoustic EP" in 2010 and the "Never Fade EP" in 2011 on her own label Never Fade Records, establishing an acoustic songwriting approach centered on voice, guitar and piano. After signing with Parlophone, she released her debut album "English Rain" in 2013, where her sound shifted toward melodic pop with fuller arrangements, notably boosted by a widely publicized cover of "The Power of Love." With "Light Up the Dark" (2015) she emphasized pop and indie influences and moved away from a strictly folk register, before returning to a more introspective and luminous songwriting style on "Dear Happy" (2020). Having regained greater independence in managing her career, she continued this trajectory with "Phosphorescent" in 2023, consolidating a style that ranges from intimate ballads to alternative pop with subtle electronic touches, developed both in the studio and through extensive tours across the UK and Europe.
