Havok

Formed in Denver, Colorado, in 2004 around singer and guitarist David Sanchez, Havok plays fast, tense and technical thrash metal rooted in the 1980s while drawing on elements of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, death metal, hardcore punk and a more progressive strain of heavy metal. After several demos and the EP Pwn ’Em All (2007), Havok released Burn (2009) and Time Is Up (2011), the latter coinciding with the band’s rising profile during the early-2010s thrash revival. Their discography continued with Unnatural Selection (2013), Conformicide (2017) and V (2020). Despite numerous lineup changes, Havok remains centered on David Sanchez — the sole remaining founding member — with recent lineups featuring drummer Pete Webber and bassist Nick Schendzielos. Havok’s sound relies on cutting riffs, brisk tempos, solos rooted in classic heavy metal and lyrics often focused on political, social or media-related issues. Over the years Havok has toured with several prominent metal acts and performed in clubs and at festivals across North America and internationally.
