Info
On 24 June 2026 at Le Transbordeur in Villeurbanne, Show Me the Body and Truck Violence share the bill.
Hailing from New York, the members of Show Me the Body shape a sound that crosses punk, hardcore and hip‑hop, with a banjo front and center that upends the genre’s conventions. A trio of bass, drums and banjo/vocals, they champion Trouble the Water, their third album, where stark bursts of violence, spoken‑word passages and heavier sections intermingle, with lyrics addressing police violence, isolation, capitalism and immigration. Rooted in the DIY scene, they play up close to the audience, unfiltered. A new track to their repertoire: “Dance in the USA.”
Based in Montreal, Truck Violence was forged between prairie and city around Paul Lecours and Karsyn Henderson, later joined by Chris Clegg and Thomas Hart. Their music combines hardcore, folk and country, with traces of punk, shoegaze and sludge, producing an organic, upfront sound. After Hinterlands, released under the name Truck, the band tightened its approach with Violence in 2024. The lyrics delve into addiction, abuse and family fractures in rural settings, written in a direct, no‑nonsense style.
