L'Antidote

L'Antidote brings together percussionist Bijan Chemirani, rooted in the Persian tradition, cellist Redi Hasa and Lebanese pianist Rami Khalifé in an instrumental trio born during the pandemic during a working session in Apulia. Their music is created without a fixed score and favors improvisation, in a dialogue between Middle Eastern percussion, melodic cello, contemporary piano and subtle electronic textures. L'Antidote thus crosses Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Balkan references with an open writing, situated between chamber music, cross-border folk and repetitive pulse. The paths of the three musicians illuminate this aesthetic: Bijan Chemirani has long explored Persian rhythms, Redi Hasa has collaborated notably with Ludovico Einaudi, Maria Mazzotta and Robert Plant, while Rami Khalifé places his playing between classical training and more experimental inquiry. In L'Antidote these trajectories meet around an instrumental repertoire founded on mutual listening and the circulation of traditions.
