Dave Clarke

Based in Amsterdam, British DJ and producer Dave Clarke has built, since the late 1980s, a career centered on the darker edges of techno and electro. Born in Brighton in 1968, Clarke came to attention in the early 1990s with a series of maxis and the "Red" EPs, which circulated widely in European clubs. His first album, "Archive One", was released in 1996, followed by "Devil’s Advocate" in 2003 and "The Desecration of Desire" in 2017, which marked a clearer move toward vocal forms and textures close to electro and new wave. Alongside his studio productions, Clarke has developed an extensive career as a remixer, working on tracks by Depeche Mode and Underworld among others, and has multiplied collaborations, for example within the Unsubscribe project with producer Mr. Jones. As presenter of the radio show "White Noise", launched in the mid-2000s, he champions a demanding vision of techno attentive to both emerging scenes and more historical catalogs. Behind the decks, Dave Clarke delivers fast, cutting techno often blended with electro and industrial influences, which he presents in clubs and on the major stages of international electronic festivals.
