Alborosie

Alborosie, whose real name is Alberto D’Ascola, is an Italian reggae musician and producer, born in 1977. In 1992 Alborosie began his musical career by forming his first group, Reggae National Tickets, with which he started to gain recognition in Italy. After this Italian success, Alborosie moved to Jamaica in 2000, where he began working with producer John Baker. There he worked as a sound engineer and took part in the recording of an album by Manu Chao. In 2008 Alborosie released his first album, Soul Pirate, and a few years later became the first white artist to be produced by Bob Marley’s label, Tuff Gong. Alongside his production career, Alborosie performed at numerous concerts in Jamaica. He returned to Italy in 2009 to present his second album, Escape from Babylon. Following the success of that album, Alborosie embarked on a world tour of concerts, including festival appearances. In 2011 he returned to the studio with the roots reggae album 2 Times Revolution.
