Taiwan Mc

Active in the French sound system scene since the early 2000s, Taiwan MC has established himself as an MC and singer at the crossroads of reggae, dancehall, hip‑hop and dub. First noticed in various live projects and within Diskodub, Taiwan MC joined the Marseille collective Chinese Man on stage and later on the label Chinese Man Records, where he developed a writing style mixing English and French, dancehall‑derived toasting and rap‑influenced flows. His first solo EP, Heavy This Year, was released in 2013, followed by the album Cool & Deadly in 2016, which established a universe marked by digital rhythms, bass music influences and sung choruses. In 2020, Taiwan MC released Special Request, produced with several producers close to the Chinese Man circle, which continues this fusion of modern reggae, hip‑hop and urban pop. A regular on European stages and festivals, Taiwan MC alternates between personal projects, features and appearances on Chinese Man tours, while remaining strongly rooted in sound system culture and in French reinterpretations of Jamaican music.
